Coupons
In order to setup coupons for your classifieds system, you will need to login to your System Administrator account. You may login by clicking "Login" on the top menu of your classifieds. After you are logged in, you will be presented with the user account screen. On the left hand menu, you should see a link labeled "System Admin". Clicking this link will take you to the admin control panel.
When you enter the admin control panel, you will see a list of links in the left hand column. This section of the manual deals with the "Manage Coupons" section of your control panel. After clicking the "Manage Coupons" link, you will be presented with the coupons setup for your classifieds.
Only System Admininistrators are able to view this section of the admin panel.
Through the use of coupons, you may create a method to entice visitors to post ads in your classifieds. You may create coupons for a percentage off of the price, or for a dollar amount off of the price. Coupons are normally sent out to potential clients via email campaigns, banner ads, etc. The coupons codes are never shown to a visitor in the script.
Creating a new coupon
To create a new coupon, you must first think of a unique coupon code. This code is what the visitor will enter when they are placing the ad. Enter the desired code into the box provided.
The next item you must configure is the ending date for the coupon. Select the date you wish this coupon to expire, or select never expire.
After you set the expiration, you'll want to choose whether you are going to offer a percentage, or a dollar amount discount. If you are offering a percentage, choose the "%" selector and enter the percentage as a number into the provided box. Do not enter the % sign. If you are going to offer a dollar amount coupon, select the "$" selector and enter the dollar amount into the provided box. Again, only enter the number and do not enter and currency settings.
The last two choices you need to make determine if the coupon can be used more than once by the same visitor, and if the coupon can be used for renewals, new ads or either.
Existing coupons
This section will show you the coupons you currently are offering to your visitor. The list will show the coupon code, what type, how much, and how many times it has been used. To edit a coupon, click the edit link next to it. Likewise, to remove a coupon, click the delete link.
