Coupons
To manage the coupons you allow your visitors, you will need to login to your administrator account. You may login by clicking "Login/Create Account" on the top menu bar of the directory. After you are logged in, you will be presented with the user account screen. On the left hand menu, you should see a link labeled "System Admin". Clicking this link will take you to the admin control panel.
When you enter the admin control panel, you will see a list of links in the left hand column. This section of the manual deals with the "Manage Coupons" section of your control panel. After clicking the "Manage Coupons" link, you will be presented with a screen which is broken into a few sections.
Coupons are used to give your visitors a savings on the price of their listing, if you have chosen to charge for listings. Coupons are NOT published to the visitor, how you get the coupon code to the visitor is in your hands. Most often coupons are used to prospect new visitors, etc.
If you have a valid coupon setup in the system, the visitor will be shown a box in the Add Listings screen in which they can enter the coupon code. If it is valid, the price for their listing will be reduced based upon what you have setup for that coupon.
To enter a new coupon, enter a unique coupon code into the box provided. Then choose when the coupon is to expire, or click the never expire box for a permanent coupon. The next thing you will want to do is to select the type of coupon, either a percentage off of their price, or a fixed dollar amount. When enter the amount, do not enter a currency symbol nor a percent sign. If you wish to create a coupon for $5.00 USD off of the price, simply enter 5.00. For 50% off, only enter 50. BosDirectory tracks which users have used which coupons. If you wish to prevent a user from using a particular coupon more than once, select Yes for "Visitors can only use this coupon once?". Once you have entered all of the information, click the Proceed button.
Under the add coupon box, you will be presented with a list of all of your currently offered coupons. You will be able to see when the coupon expires, how much off you are offering and how many times it has been used. To delete a coupon, click the delete link next to the coupon.
