Appearance options
In order to setup the appearance options for your directory system, you will need to login to your System Administrator account. You may login by clicking "Login" on the top menu of your directory. After you are logged in, you will be presented with the user account screen. On the left hand menu, you should see a link labeled "System Admin". Clicking this link will take you to the admin control panel.

When you enter the admin control panel, you will see a list of links in the left hand column. This section of the manual deals with the "Manage Appearance" section of your control panel. After clicking the "Manage Appearance" link, you will be presented with the global system settings for your directory.

Only System Admininistrators are able to view this section of the admin panel.

There are several different settings on this screen, which will control the overall appearance of the directory.

HTML content

The page header and page footer sections will allow you to place HTML content into your directory. For instance if you wanted to place a menu system at the top of your directory, you would place that HTML into the box presented. Through the use of these two boxes, you are able to wrap content all the way around the directory, making it appear seemless with your existing web site. For more information on how to wrap content around the directory, please click here.

You may also opt to instruct the directory to load an external HTML or PHP file to use as the header/footer. This is done by entering
"file:/physical/path/on/server/to/the/filetorun.php"
into the header box. You must enter the physical path, and not the url to the file in order for this to work. If you are unsure of the physical path, you may either ask your host, or view the connect.php file and look for the $insPath variable which contains the physical path to where the directory are installed, and go from there.

Display Options

To set the overall width of the application, enter either a pixel amount (such as "750") or a percentage (such as "95%") into the "Page width" box.

You can further modify the appearance of your directory, by choosing how many listings to display per page and how many columns to display those listings in.

You may also set up how the categories are to be displayed, by choosing the number of colums to display them in, whether or not to show the sub-categories under the parent, and if you wish to display the number of sub-categories and listings in each category.
The setting labeled "Display subcats under categories" will allow you to display up to 3 randomly chosen subcategories to be displayed as links under the category itself.
"Yes" Example:
Category name (10/230)
This is the category description...
Sub-cat2,Sub-cat3,Sub-cat1
"No" Example:
Category name (10/230)
This is the category description...

Another item you have direct control over, is which menu options to present in the top and bottom menu bars. To display one of the controls, simply check it's box.

You may choose which of your available stylesheets to use, by selecting the desired sheet in the box provided.

The last item in this section, will allow you to set the maximum size of uploaded images for the listings. Enter a pixel size into the box provided, and all images uploaded will be reset to your desired size.
