Levels
In order to setup the listing levels for your directory system, you will need to login to your System Administrator account. You may login by clicking "Login" on the top menu of your directory. After you are logged in, you will be presented with the user account screen. On the left hand menu, you should see a link labeled "System Admin". Clicking this link will take you to the admin control panel.
When you enter the admin control panel, you will see a list of links in the left hand column. This section of the manual deals with the "Manage Levels" section of your control panel. After clicking the "Manage LEvels" link, you will be presented with the levels settings for your directory.
Only System Admininistrators are able to view this section of the admin panel.
Levels, what they are
The listing levels allows you to present your users with different packages which they can choose from when they are posting their listing. You must have at least one level created in the system, and you can create as many as you require. Levels are used to create different pricing, option, and placement packages. The first step your visitors take when posting their listing, is to choose an option package. If you only have one package set up, they will not have to choose. Each level may collect different information, uniquely display information, and have unique options. How you set up your levels, is only limited by your imagination.
Configuration
The first step in setting up your levels, is to create one. To do so, simply click the button provided.
Select a name for the level, and enter it in the box provided. This name is the label for the level, and will be presented to the user when they post their listing.
The selections on the left hand side will allow you to choose which pieces of information to collect from the user, and which ones to force the user to complete.
The options on the right, allow you to choose how the listing will be configured. For many of the options, you have a choice of "No", "Forced", and "Optional". If you wish to set up a level, which will make the listing a sponsor, then set the "Sponsored" to "Forced". If you wish to set up a level which allows the user to add "Sponsored" to his listing, set the option to "Optional". For the background color option, if you wish to enable it you must enter an HTML color code, such as #D5D5D5.
The second section of the options panel, will allow you to further customize the level. If you wish the level to only be displayed on the index pages, then set the "Listing type" to "index only", otherwise visitors will be able to view a seperate full page for the listing. The number of categories selector, will allow you to limit the listing to a specified number of categories. The number of images selector will allow you to set up how many images the user may upload. Please keep in mind, that setting the number of images to more than 1 on an "index only" listing is useless, as the other images will never be seen. If you wish to allow file, or coupon uploads, set the selectors as needed for those options. Enabling file or coupon updates will require that you edit the input/display templates to accept/display those items.
Templates/Displays
Each level can have it's own input set up, and display set up. You are provided with two large input boxes, into which you can enter the HTML code to arrange the screens how you wish them to be laid out. When first entering this screen, the default templates will be displayed. The template is simply HTML, using placeholders for the actual inputs. A list of available placeholders is displayed to the right of each template. If, for whatever reason, you wish to restore the templates to the defaults, simply empty the provided boxes and the defaults will be assigned to the level.
The "Items to display on index pages" section allows you to choose what is displayed on the index pages for this level. This allows you to display partial information on the indexes, and then the complete information on the detail pages for the listings.
The last section allows you to display a message to the visitor when they are choosing which level they wish to use. This section should be used to describe the package to the user, so they know what the level includes.
Pricing
The pricing for the level is broken down into two different styles:
Flat fee - This style has one price which is applied to the entire package, regardless of the options/categories/images the user chooses.
Per item - This style allows you to set prices for individual options, a per category fee, and per image fee. When entering a price, only enter the numbers of the price such as "5.00", instead of "$5.00 USD".
